Wassily chair (Model B3) by Marcel Breuer

$1,000.00 USD

The Model B3 chair is the creation of architect and designer Marcel Breuer. Its steel-tube construction was inspired by Breuer's bicycle, which he purchased upon arriving to Bauhaus in 1925. Breuer would spend several years perfecting the form of the Model B3, now one of the most recognizable pieces of modern furniture.

The chair was later renamed Wassily in honor of Vasily Kandinsky, Breuer’s friend and fellow Bauhaus instructor, who had praised the design when it was first produced.

This is a vintage production, likely by Gavina, featuring brown leather straps. Wear is commensurate with age. Leather is original and has been repaired for structural integrity.
